Univer Prémium sour cherry marmalade is made with a generous amount of fruit. Every 100 g of finished product is prepared using 60 g of sour cherries. Its distinctive fruit flavor makes it a versatile choice for sweet breakfasts, desserts and homemade baked goods.

The product is heat-treated for preservation and, according to the manufacturer, contains no preservatives. Its ingredients include sour cherries, sugar, pectin and concentrated lemon juice. The marmalade comes in a convenient 300 g glass jar.

How to use sour cherry marmalade

Ingredients

For the pastry:

• 250 g softened margarine,
• 150 g granulated sugar,
• 3 egg yolks,
• 450 g all-purpose flour,
• 1 packet baking powder,
• grated zest and juice of 1 lemon.

For the filling and meringue:

• 2 jars Univer Prémium sour cherry marmalade, 600 g total,
• 3 egg whites,
• 150 g powdered sugar.

Directions

1. Beat the softened margarine with the granulated sugar and three egg yolks until light and fluffy.
2. Add the flour, baking powder, grated lemon zest and lemon juice. Mix until a uniform dough forms.
3. Set aside approximately one-quarter of the dough.
4. Press the remaining dough into a greased baking pan.
5. Spread two jars of sour cherry marmalade evenly over the pastry.
6. Whip the egg whites until foamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar toward the end of whipping.
7. Spread the meringue over the marmalade layer.
8. Shape the reserved dough into thin strips and arrange them in a lattice pattern over the meringue.
9. Bake in a moderately hot oven for approximately 22–24 minutes.
